Osteochondral Fracture, Ankle

- Hx: heavy built 17 yo teenage boy, with inversion injury of the foot (better term is supination injury of the ankle) while running
- PE: swollen and tender at lateral and anterior ankle, rest of foot and fibula are not tender
- xray: bony fragment and irregularity on top of (medial) talus dome
- Other names: Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) of the Talus
- aside from ankle, knee could have this type of injury too
- if missed, may lead to Chronic Osteochondritis Dissecans
- from High Impact Axial loading or even nasty Inversion injury
- Management: POP, NWB up to 6 weeks
