Schatzker Classification
Type I : Split fracture of lateral plateau
Type II : Split-depression fracture of lateral plateau
Type III : Depression fracture of lateral plateau
Type IV : Medial plateau fracture
Type V : Bicondylar plateau fracture
Type VI : Plateau fracture with separation of the metaphysis from the diaphysis

Mechanism of injury
Motor vehicle accidents, 'bumper' fractures, fall from height
Examination
Haemarthrosis of knee joint
Exclude injury to the popliteal vessels and peroneal nerves
Exclude acute compartment syndrome
X-rays
AP and lateral views of the knee
Management
Backslab. Analgesics
Admit all cases to Ortho Dept
